Nobody likes getting a ticket. But if you do, there’s now a convenient web portal to help you easily resolve your ticket. The City of Dallas Courts teamed up with The Blue Ocean, a strategic communications company in Richardson, to create a web portal that guides you through paying your ticket. In the next few months, the portal will go live.
From being pulled over, to standing in court and pleading your case, the portal videos showcase the five options you may choose from to close your citation.
The high profile project is already making buzz throughout City departments. The Chief of the Dallas Police Department, personally viewed and approved all the videos that depict Dallas police officers in action. Various City directors, Chief Prosecutor Fred Williams, and District Judge Solis also assisted with the project.

The Blue Ocean added to their hospitality portfolio by signing Hyatt Dallas to a strategic communication deal. Wasting no time, The Blue Ocean crew immediately got to work filming some behind-the-scenes video from the Final Four Music Festival in Downtown Dallas. Bill even got to meet Jim Calhoun, former coach of the National Champion UConn Huskies! Special thanks to the Hyatt staff for giving us access to some amazing footage of artists like LL Cool J, Tim McGraw, Fun, and Bruce Springsteen.
The number one multifamily construction company in the nation, Rampart Construction, recently contracted The Blue Ocean to help them refine their communication strategy. The plan included a fresh, new website.

Our Founder Curtis Thornton continued leadership training at Collin County on Wednesday. This third session included a civilization mapping project. This unique exercise forces leaders to illustrate their departmental cultures highlighting the significance of personality, influence and organizational development.
Collin County County Clerk Stacey Kemp signed The Blue Ocean in January for a TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT package. Once the training is completed TBO will present Collin County with a detailed ROI Report to ensure key objectives exceeded expectations.
In preparation for our upcoming shoot our founder Curtis Thornton led a training session with over 12 employees at The City Of Dallas Employee Retirement Fund (ERF). Curtis taught the future actors and writers our Lights, Camera, Action model that focuses on creating video strategically. They learned about scripting, body language, and script delivery.
After the teaching session the actors were able to apply their new knowledge in front of the camera receiving one-on-one coaching by Curtis. This training session is a continuing of our relationship with ERF and we hope to continue the relationship for years to come. Our Founder Curtis Thornton recently presented leadership training for Collin County. The topic was Strategy, focusing on the importance of decision making, the cultural pyramid and the power of X. Leaders also explored the teachings of Peter Drucker, Peter Senge and William Deming.
Selecting the TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT package, Curtis is guiding thirteen key leaders on a six month curriculum featuring theory, case study and application.
The Sheraton Dallas signed up for The Blue Ocean’s REVENUE GROWTH package. First, TBO created a strategic video incorporating employee testimonials, and dynamic B-Roll from the beautiful hotel in Dallas. Second, TBO helped Sheraton create a branded web portal customized for their client.
Applying TBO’s E3 Formula— Engage, Educate, Execute— Sheraton was able to secure the large high-profile contract.

Constantly expanding our video library, The Blue Ocean converted it’s coaching curriculum to video. With the addition of the Coaching Series, costumers have access to knowledge on subjects like mentoring, encouraging, and disciplining employees.

Bill Coleman provided a sales and marketing update highlighting TBO’s 70% sales growth for the second year in a row. Director of Technology, Stephen Batts also demo’s the web team’s enhanced Virtual Assistant technology. A plug-in to compliment TBO’s already powerful web portal.
With healthcare reform a hot topic for HR departments, The City Of Dallas contracted The Blue Ocean for a HEALTHCARE REFORM package. For the third year in a row, TBO team helped strategize their efforts to simplify the Open Enrollment process with a web portal, as well as a collection of strategic videos.
The result was a dramatically lower number of enrollment meetings, as well as easier on boarding throughout the year.
